NRBs are not merely migrants in foreign countries but in fact a very useful, powerful and strong External resource for a Nation like Bangladesh. They are full of talents, Entrepreneurial skill, knowledge, know-how, resilience, perseverance , leadership, experience, expertise, technology, vision, spirit, money, creativity, philanthropy et al. I believe that NRB Day and business summit in Sylhet on 30th December 2024 will be a groundbreaking flagship event bringing together NRB’s from across the globe to hold a national day in Bangladesh to enable their economic and social interests to be taken into account and prioritise within the Caretaker Government policies and plans. It will showcase a remarkable opportunity to harness their collective strengths and channel them into transformative actions. NRBs are not only known for sending their remittances and investments in Bangladesh but also playing an instrumental role in the development of both rural and urban economy of Bangladesh. They are certainly acting as a goodwill ambassador between their home country and host countries. They are the one spreading their history and heritage, culture and custom, trade and traditions of their country to other countries. NRB community is enhancing the cross cultural feelings between countries and contributing greatly to the diverse fabric in those countries. They are the real heroes. Time has come to show them their due respect and recognition. NRBs stand at a pivotal juncture, ready to reflect on their shared successes and look forward to a future filled with possibilities and groundbreaking ideas which will be discussed and presented through this summit and hope this will build a brighter future and continue to inspire positive changes both within and beyond. I wish the summit all the very best.
