NRBs are a strong vehicle for the economic growth and stability of Bangladesh. It is because of NRBs' sending remittance to their family and dear and near ones that they could afford more nutritious food for their families, could send their kids to schools, could afford a better living that led to longer longevity in Bangladesh. Hunger and poverty have reduced more than half partly due to NRBs sending remittances.
As a member of the Finance Committee of the Parliamentary Affairs, GoB, we have recommended newer initiatives to honor and encourage the NRBs. As you know, the Bangladesh government has already approved the NRB Day or Probashi Debosh to be celebrated each year on 30th December all across the world.
